What to know

Established on July 15, 1975, by Clifford Antone, the legendary music venue originally opened its doors on Sixth Street. Over the decades, the club underwent several relocations, moving to Anderson Lane around 1980, Guadalupe Street in 1981, West Fifth Street in 1997, and East Riverside in 2013. In 2015, the historic brand was restored, bringing the iconic blues venue back to its downtown Austin roots at 305 E 5th Street. Often called the Home of the Blues, Antone's has hosted legendary blues and soul giants, including B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed, Ray Charles, and James Brown. Beyond hosting international icons, the venue played a pivotal role in developing local talent, fostering the careers of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Gary Clark Jr., and The Fabulous Thunderbirds. This rich musical legacy helped Austin secure its famous moniker as the Live Music Capital of the World. The venue's profound impact was celebrated in the 2007 documentary Antone's: Home of the Blues, which received a Keeping the Blues Alive Award from the Blues Foundation. Today, Antone's serves as both a premier events venue and an active piece of living history. The multi-level space includes a private upstairs area for events. Visitors can stop by Big Henry's Vinyl & Gifts, which serves as the club's box office and retail space. Here, guests can purchase merchandise, grab tickets, and browse music. In the lounge and retail space, you can relax, listen to music, and enjoy an Antone's Famous Po Boy accompanied by a cold beer.
