Imagine walking into a space designed specifically to keep things incredibly fresh, from massive wholesale coolers to a bustling retail counter. This is Quality Seafood Market on Airport Boulevard, a place that has been serving Austin since 1938. While it began decades ago, it moved to this custom-designed location in 1970 to house a kitchen, a fresh fish market, and a massive wholesale operation.

In 2003, Paul and Carol Huntsberger took over the business, later overseeing expansions that secured its status as a local legend. Whether you are stopping by for a dine-in lunch between Wednesday and Saturday or picking up fresh fish to cook at home, you are participating in a multi-generational Austin tradition. Keep your ears open for the sounds of ice scooping and fish being prepped, because the legacy of fresh catch in the middle of Texas is still going strong.
