Step back in time to 1948, when a local legend named Rudy Cisco Cisneros opened a restaurant in a historic teal building. This is Cisco's Restaurant and Bakery, located at 1511 East 6th Street. Long before it became a beloved neighborhood icon, the two-story building, erected in 1914, housed a butcher shop and packing company.

Under Rudy's care, it transformed into a family-run establishment that would shape Austin's food culture for generations. In 2019, Cisco's was officially designated a Texas Treasure Business, a testament to its deep roots in the community. People flock here for their famous breakfast favorites, most notably their legendary migas and huevos rancheros.

As you walk East 6th, you are passing decades of family history served up one plate of migas at a time.
