Have you ever owned something so bizarre that you simply could not bring yourself to sell it? That is exactly how store owners Steve and Veronica Busti felt. In two thousand five, they were running Lucky Lizard Curios and Gifts in downtown Austins Sixth Street entertainment district.

Over time, they accumulated oddities that were just too unusual to sell, so they decided to put them on display instead. That quirky decision birthed the Museum of the Weird, housed right inside their shop. Operating as one of the very last traditional dime museums in the classic P.T.

Barnum tradition, this spot has been delighting and baffling visitors for nearly two decades. It is a testament to Austins legendary love for the unconventional. Keep your eyes open for the unusual as you stroll, because in this town, the weird is always worth celebrating.
