Can you hear the roar of over a hundred thousand fans echoing through the Austin air? Long before it became a massive modern coliseum, Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium had humble beginnings. In 1924, a passionate fundraising drive secured the funds to build an original twenty-seven thousand-seat stadium, designed by architect Herbert M.

Greene of Dallas. It has been the proud home of Texas Longhorns football ever since. Over the decades, the stadium underwent continual upgrades.

In 1948, George L. Dahl designed additions to the stands, and in 1996, the stadium was officially renamed to honor legendary coach Darrell K Royal. Today, after a century of operation, its capacity has soared to over one hundred thousand.

From a simple field to a historic sporting cathedral, it is a monument to Texas football passion. Let's keep moving and see what other landmarks await us.
