At 725 St. Ferdinand Street, a building with a deep spiritual past has found a new, artistic rhythm. Built in 1853 as a German Catholic Church, the structure spent decades as a house of worship before being closed in 1997.

But in 2011, it was reimagined and reopened as the Marigny Opera House. Now, instead of traditional sermons, it serves as a non-denominational neighborhood church of the arts. Since 2014, it's been the home of the Marigny Opera Ballet, a resident contemporary dance company.

It's a beautiful example of how an old architectural shell can be adapted into a living, breathing theater where the community can experience the magic of performance.
