To see New Orleans from a different perspective, head to the riverfront. This area is a cornerstone of the city's tourism appeal, blending river-oriented heritage with modern promenades. One of the most scenic spots is the Moon Walk, a promenade constructed in 1975 and named after former Mayor Maurice Landrieu.
It acted as a catalyst for the development of the waterfront we see today. Nearby, you will find Spanish Plaza, which was given as a gift from Spain to the city in 1976. From riverboat cruising to dockside dining, the riverfront is where the city's cultural identity meets the massive flow of the Mississippi.
It is the perfect place to realize why this port city became such a global crossroads.
