Harlem's cultural legacy is woven into the walls of the Studio Museum, founded in 1968. It was designed as a nexus for artists of African descent and work inspired by Black culture, acting as a place to exchange ideas about art and society. For years, the museum has supported emerging artists by providing studio space and curating collections focused on underrepresented voices.

After a seven-year closure, it reopened in a stunning seven-floor building designed by Adjaye Associates, doubling its exhibition space. It's more than just a gallery; it's an institution credited with helping to diversify the entire art world.
