The project was initiated in 2009 when musician and composer Wayne Horvitz partnered with experienced Seattle venue owners Tia Matthies and Steve Freeborn to create a space dedicated to the arts in historic Columbia City. Designed specifically to serve musicians and artists, the venue boasts professional-grade architecture. It features a generous stage and permanent backline, recording and video capabilities, and a prestigious Steinway B grand piano. This specialized equipment ensures that the club, which has a capacity of 150 people, provides a high-quality sonic experience for every performance. Beyond the music, the establishment operates as a welcoming neighborhood bar and restaurant. It offers a comfortable atmosphere that caters to diverse tastes, serving patrons from after-work happy hour through the late evening. The space is designed to feel like a community hub where locals and visitors can gather for food and drinks. The venue maintains an inclusive policy, remaining all ages until 10pm, though minors are required to stay outside the bar area.
