Hidden away is the Earle-Harrison House, Waco's only restored antebellum home open to the public. Built in 1858 as a Greek Revival, side-entry building, it represents a rare glimpse into the mid-nineteenth century. The home was built for Dr.

Baylis Wood Earle and his wife, Ann Eliza Harrison Earle, who had moved to the Brazos Valley just a year earlier. It's a place of quiet elegance and historical weight, having survived the passage of time and various owners. In 1967, the house was relocated and restored, ensuring that this piece of early Texas architecture wouldn't be lost to history.

It's a beautiful, enduring anchor of the city's early residential design.
