Georgetown Waterfront Park is more than just a scenic stroll; it's a carefully designed connection between the city and the Potomac. If you look around, you'll see it's built as a public pedestrian link, offering spaces for relaxation and wide-open views of the river. It's actually part of a much larger network called the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail, which was authorized by Congress in 1983.

This trail isn't one single path, but a series of routes that stretch all the way from the river's mouth here in D.C. up to Cumberland, Maryland. Whether you're here for the breeze or the city skyline, you're standing on a small piece of a massive regional journey.
