This disclosure is provided in accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR Part 255 ("Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising"). It explains how Gyde ("Gyde", "we", "us") earns money from some of the links shown in our app and on this website.
1. We may earn commissions from affiliate links
Gyde participates in affiliate and partnership programs. When you book a tour, buy tickets, reserve a table, or make another purchase through certain links we show — for example, links to providers such as Viator, GetYourGuide, and Ticketmaster — we may receive a commission from that provider. These are commonly called "affiliate links."
2. It costs you nothing extra
Using an affiliate link never increases the price you pay. The commission is paid to us by the provider out of their own margin. The price you see is the same price you would pay going to the provider directly.
3. Our recommendations are independent of commissions
The places, tours, and experiences Gyde surfaces are selected from public evidence — open data, cited facts, and editorial judgment about what is genuinely worth a visitor's time. Whether or not a place carries an affiliate link, and how much it might pay, does not determine whether we show it or how we describe it. Booking and ticket links are commercial calls-to-action layered on top of our recommendations; they are never the source of the recommendation itself, and they never feed the descriptions or audio narration we generate.
4. Not every link is an affiliate link
Many links in Gyde — to official websites, Wikipedia, maps, and open-data sources — are not affiliate links and earn us nothing. Affiliate relationships apply only to specific booking, ticketing, and reservation providers, and only once those programs are active for us.
5. Program status
Gyde is operated by an independent developer. Some affiliate programs may not be active at a given time; where a provider link is shown without an active affiliate relationship, we earn nothing from it and it functions as an ordinary link to that provider.
